Oklahoma didn't play this past week and the Sooners didn't move much in the national rankings either, despite all the chaos involving some of the country's highest-ranked teams over the weekend.

The Sooners (4-1) are tied for 18th, up one, in the Associated Poll this week and 16th in the Coaches Poll. There are still seven SEC teams ranked ahead of Oklahoma with Texas A&M moving up to No, 15 in the AP poll and 14 in the Coaches Poll and Missouri dropping to 21st and 18th, respectively, in both polls as a result of a 41-10 pasting to the Aggies on Saturday.

Texas takes over the No. 1 spot in both major polls this week. The Longhorns were already No. 1 in the AP poll. Alabama, No. 1 in the Coaches Poll after defeating No. 2 Georgia a week ago, dropped all the way to No. 7 in both polls after an improbable loss to unranked Vanderbilt on Saturday.

The SEC continues to lead all conferences with nine teams ranked in the top 25 in both major weekly polls. The Big 12 and Big Ten each has six ranked teams.

Oklahoma and Texas will be among the marquee matchups next weekend as they meet for the 120th edition of the Red River Rivalry. Both teams had a bye week this past week so should be well rested for next weekend's showdown in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. Texas will be favored this year, but the Sooners have won seven of the last 10 meetings.
