Wayman Tisdale is arguably the greatest player in Oklahoma basketball history. He averaged 25.6 points per game in three seasons at OU (1982-85) and was a three-time Big Eight Player of the Year. He led the conference all three seasons he was at OU and led the league in rebounding in 1982-83. He was the first collegiate player to be named a first-team All-American by the Associated Press in his freshman, sophomore and junior seasons. He was also a first-team All-Big Eight selection all three seasons he played at Oklahoma. Tisdale was selected No. 2 overall in the 1985 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers. In 12 NBA seasons, he averaged 15.3 points and 6.1 points per game. Tisdale died in 2009 after battling cancer for a couple of years. He was 44 years old.
