The 2024 NBA Draft was held this week with 58 players selected in two rounds held over two days. There were no Oklahoma Sooners players taken in this year's draft for the sixth straight season

In fact, the Sooners have not had a player selected in the NBA Draft since Trae Young in 2021.

The last Oklahoma player to make an NBA roster is Austin Reaves, who signed with the Los Angeles Lakers as a free agent in 2021. He is still with the Lakers, In three seasons with the Lakers, Reaves has averaged 12.4 points per game and 36.5 percent on three-point attempts. He averaged 15.5 points a game this season, the fourth leading scorer on the team.

The first NBA Draft was held 78 years ago, in July 1947, in Detroit, Michigan. No OU player was selected in the first two years of the what was then the Basketball Association of America. Paul Courty, a guard on the 1948-49 Oklahoma team was the first Sooner taken in the newly named National Basketball Association Draft. He was selected in the eighth round of the 1949 draft.


With this being the week of the 2024 NBA Draft, we thought it appropriate to look back at Oklahoma's historic participation in the draft by ranking the top 10 Sooner draft picks of all-time.
