On Monday evening, the Sooners learned that four-star defensive line prospect Floyd Boucard was decommitting from Oklahoma's 2025 class, Earlier in the day, it was announced that junior defensive lineman R Mason Thomas was named the Bronko Nagurski Trophy Defensive Player of the Week.

Boucard announced his decision to reopen his recruitment on social media, stating, "It's after much consideration, thought and conversations with my family that I've made the decision to recommit, and I am reopening my recruitment to other schools."

The Miami, Florida, native reportedly made a visit to his hometown Miami Hurricanes over the weekend, which could be a leading indication of where he might be headed. The elite D-line prospect also holds offers from a host of major programs, including Ohio State, Georgia, Alabama, Oregon, Missouri, LSU, Florida State and Penn State among others.

Boucard committed to Oklahoma on July 20, choosing the Sooners over Miami and USC.

Oklahoma's 2025 class currently stands at 22 commitments and ranks 10th nationally, according to both 247Sports and On3. The 2025 class still included four defensive line prospects: C.J. The junior edge rusher registered three sacks for 20 yards of negative yardage, a pass breakup, a forced fumble and fumble recovery, all coming at a critical point in the game with OU leading by a narrow five-point margin late in the final quarter.

On Tulane's next to last possession, Thomas delivered two quarterback sacks and batted down a pass, and on the Green Wave's final possession of the game, he recorded a strip sack of Tulane QB Darian Mensah and recovered the fumble, closing out the win for the Sooners.

Head coach Brent Venables singled out Thomas in his postgame press conference, saying, "(It's) been a long time coming for him from an injury standpoint." Thomas has battled injuries in his first two seasons at Oklahoma.
