With five days to go before early national signing day for 2024 prospects, Oklahoma football added to its top10-ranked recruiting class earning the commitment of one of its top targets, four-star offensive lineman Eddy Pierre-Louis.

Pierre-Louis made his long-awaited announcement on Friday on Instagram. The 6-foot, 3-inch, 335-pound interior offensive lineman chose the Sooners over Miami, UCF and Oregon. He is the 28th commitment in Oklahoma's 2024 class, the 15th offensive player and the fifth offensive lineman to verbally sign on to play for offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh, who has a strong history of developing NFL-caliber O-line talent.

The popular saying "first impressions are lasting impressions" apparently played heavily in Oklahoma's favor in the recruitment of Pierre-Louis. He only made one official visit to the OU campus. And that was back in June of this year. He must have really liked what he saw and heard because that impression held from then until now.

Pierre-Louis is rated the No. 29 player overall in the 2024 class and the No. 1 offensive guard by Rivals. The four-star prospect is the No. 11 interior offensive lineman and No. 247 overall, according to the 247Sports Composite.

The addition of Pierre-Louis is a giant addition (no pun intended) to OU's 2024 class and it comes at a good time. Earlier this week, Sooner freshman Cayden Green announced he was entering the transfer portal. Green played in 11 games and was on the field for 567 snaps this season. At the time of his recruitment in the 2023 class, Green was rated the No. 10 offensive tackle in the 247Sports Composite.

Pierre-Louis was a teammate of Oklahoma freshman linebacker Lewis Carter at Tampa (Florida) Catholic High School. He will join fellow OU 2024 class members Daniel Akinkunmi, Josh Aisosa, Eugene Brooks and Isaiah Autrey.

Pierre-Louis' commitment moved Oklahoma to the No. 6 spot in the Rivals class rankings. The Sooners are No. 8 in the most recent 247Sports rankings.
