The 2023-24 men's Oklahoma basketball team finished last week as one of just four remaining unbeaten teams in college basketball, sporting a perfect 10-0 record.

Last week, the Sooner men climbed from No. 19 to No. 11 in the national rankings, according to the media voters in the Associated Press poll. They jumped four more spots this week, landing at the No. 7 position. The last time OU was ranked that high was late in Lon Kruger's last season in Norman in 2020-21.

The Sooners are one of four Big 12 teams ranked in the top 10 and six in the top 25 in this week's AP poll. Baylor is No. 10. OU also moved up in the Coaches Poll, to No, 8 from 12 a week ago.

While this Oklahoma team continues to surprise many in the college basketball world, it will get a huge reality check when the Sooners take their game to Charlotte, North Carolina, on Wednesday to meet the 11th-ranked Tar Heels. This marquee matchup will be a good preview of what the remainder of the season could look like when Oklahoma tips off its Big 12 schedule beginning Jan. 6.

Kansas stays at No. 2, followed by N0. 3 Houston, led by former Oklahoma head coach Kelvin Sampson. Oklahoma plays at Kansas on Jan. 6. The Sooners have not won at KU's Allen Fieldhouse since 1993.

Other Big 12 teams ranked in the nation's top 25 are No. 17 BYU and No. 19 Texas.

Purdue moved into the No. 1 spot in both the AP and Coaches Poll after defeating previous No. 1 Arizona.
