Oklahoma baseball: OU rebounds to power its way past Oklahoma State for 19-10 Bedlam win

Rebounding from a 9-6 loss on Friday night, the Oklahoma baseball team exploded for 19 runs, including six home runs, in a 19-10 win over Oklahoma State in Stillwater on Saturday.
The Sooners (17-13, 8-3) scored three times in the second inning off of Oklahoma State starter Brian Holiday, and then followed that up with a five spot in both the third and fourth innings, and after four innings Oklahoma led 13-7.
Anthony Makenzie and Michael Snyder hit solo home runs in the second inning, and Bryce Madron homered with no one o and no one out in in the fourth. Scott Mulder hit a three-run shot out of the park later in the inning to extend the Sooner lead.
Freshman Jaxon Willits, son of former Sooner baseball player Reggie Willits blasted a three-run round tripper in the sixth frame, Jackson Nicklaus hit a two-run blast to right field to give Oklahoma an 18-10 advantage.
Three Oklahoma players (Mackenzie, Snyder and Nicklaus ) collected three hits in the game, and Mulder drove in six runs to lead the Sooner attack.
Zach Erhard and Avery Ortiz each hit a pair of home runs each for Oklahoma State (20-11, 6-5).
The Sooners outhit their Bedlam rivals 16-12, but the OU offense was more efficient producing runs. Oklahoma State left 11 runners stranded.
Oklahoma State used six pitchers in the game, and the Sooners scored earned run on five of them, The starter Holiday gave up eight runs on nine hits in 3.0 innings and was charged with the loss, his second of the season against two losses. Carter Campbell was awarded the win for Oklahoma in relief of starter Kyson Witherspoon, who allowed seven runs on eight hits in 3.2 innings. Campbell worked 4.0 innings, giving up three runs on three hits and striking out five.
The rubber game in what could be the final game in the Bedlam baseball series, at least for the time being, will be Sunday afternoon in Stillwater. The Sooners remain atop the Big 12 standings by one game over West Virginia and Kansas State through Saturday's games.
