The weekly national college football rankings put out by the Associated Press media representatives and the panel of head coaches who express their opinion in the Coaches Poll is a sum representation of the votes cast in both polls.

Naturally, there are some differences of opinion among the individual who participate in these polls, especially after you get beyond the top four or five teams. One such college football analyst, RJ Young of FOX Sports, for example, believes that Oklahoma should be ranked higher. He also is not as high on Michigan, which hosts No. 3 Texas in one of the marquee college games this weekend.

The AP has Oklahoma up one spot this week to No. 15, while the Coaches Poll has the Sooners at No. 13, three spots better than the preseason ranking. FOX's Young has Oklahoma ranked 11th after last week's 51-3 rout of overmatched Temple, one spot back of Missouri.

Here is what Young had to say about why he has the Sooners in the No. 11 slot entering Week 2:

"Oklahoma beat an FBS opponent 51-3. Missouri beat an FCS opponent 51-0. Still, folks are treating OU like they'd normally treat Mizzou and Mizzou like they'd normally treat OU, with no regard for history. The Sooners won 10 games last year, while the Tigers won 11. Hence the ranking here."

As for Michigan, the reigning national champion and ranked in the top 10 in both of the major weekly polls, Young was not sold on the Wolverines 30-10 opening-game win over Fresno State.

"Michigan, the defending national champion, will enter its own stadium as an underdog against Texas," Young writes. My question is: What are the Wolverines gonna do about it?"

I'm certain the Sooners will also be watching that game with interest.
