3. 2008 No. 5 Texas vs. No. 1 Oklahoma
While there may have been crazier games than the 2008 matchup in the Red River Rivalry, the magnitude of that game is hard to match. Oklahoma and Sam Bradford came in as the No. 1 team in the country and a clear favorite to win the national title.
Behind three Bradford touchdown passes, Oklahoma jumped out to a 21-10 lead in the second quarter, but Texas just kept punching back. In the third quarter, Colt McCoy led two scoring drives to grab the lead for the Longhorns, but Mack Brown’s team needed even more heroics.
Bradford led another scoring drive to open the fourth, throwing his fifth touchdown of the day to take a 35-30 lead, but Texas closed the game out with two rushing touchdowns by Cody Johnson. Oklahoma still made the BCS National Championship game after Texas lost to Texas Tech, but the Sooners fell to Florida.
