4. 2001 No. 3 Oklahoma vs. No. 5 Texas
There are massive implications every time Texas and Oklahoma meet, but in 2001, the stakes were as high as ever. There hadn’t been a top-five matchup between the two teams since 1979, and the Sooners were coming off their first national title since 1985.
Oklahoma kept its hopes of repeating alive with a 14-3 win that was capped off by Roy Williams’s Superman leap over the Texas offensive line which led to the game-clinching touchdown.
With the Red River Showdown today, it seemed fitting to celebrate the 17-year anniversary of Roy Williams' "Superman tackle." pic.twitter.com/5os2GGtUCB
