4 Oklahoma basketball players who probably won’t be back next season

Porter Moser stayed put in Norman, but four key pieces on his roster are heading out the door this offseason, forcing the program into an unscheduled rebuild.

After just one season at Oklahoma, Hugley is back in the transfer portal. He spent the first three years of his career at Pitt under Jeff Capel, former OU head coach, but dealt with injuries. Hugley wasn’t overly reliable in Norman either, only averaging 17.6 minutes over 24 games with just one start.

Hugley won’t be a huge loss for Oklahoma. He saw this year that he couldn’t handle Big 12 basketball on the defensive end of the floor and figured it wouldn’t get much better with a move to the SEC.

This is a classic case of a former high-major player making a move down for the final year of his career. Many of the schools that have been in contact with him are either at the bottom of power conferences or the top of mid-major conferences where he could use his size to an advantage without his lack of athleticism getting exploited.
