For only the third time in a 21-year Division-I head coaching career, Porter Moser is dancing.

Moser has led the Oklahoma Sooners to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in four seasons guiding the men's basketball program thanks to a late surge. It's an expected accomplishment at OU, which is why Moser was on the hot seat throughout the season, but it's also something only 68 coaches achieve each season.

Busting Brackets ranked all 68 head coaches competing in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, including Moser. The rankings were based off coaches and their history, not on their current team or how they're projected to do during this NCAA Tournament.

Although this is only Moser's third trip to the NCAA Tournament, he's had success every time so far with the Loyola Chicago Ramblers. In his debut in 2018, Moser led Loyola Chicago to the Final Four as an 11-seed.

In 2021, Moser had the Ramblers in the Sweet 16 before heading to Oklahoma and hasn't been back to the Big Dance since until now. In his two trips so far, Moser is 6-2 in the NCAA Tournament and has never been knocked out during the first week.

However, just two trips in such a long career does hinder Moser compared to other successful coaches.

With all that considered, Busting Brackets ranked Moser as the No. 37 head coach in the NCAA Tournament. He's just above Grand Canyon's Bryce Drew, Georgia's Mike White and Texas' Rodney Terry. He's right behind Maryland's Kevin Willard, who is 2-6 in six NCAA Tournament appearances.

That puts Moser just inside the bottom half of coaches in the field of 68. With all due respect to our friends at Busting Brackets, there are some questionable names in front of Moser, but all of them have at least the same number of NCAA Tournament appearances as Moser.

Kansas' Bill Self tops the list, followed by Michigan State's Tom Izzo and UConn's Dan Hurley, who Moser will face in the first round on Friday.
