Oklahoma senior guard Payton Verhulst had a pretty good game in a quarter.

The 3-seed Sooners led the 2-seed UConn Huskies 36-32 at halftime of their Sweet 16 matchup in the NCAA Tournament on Saturday in Spokane, Washington. Verhulst's explosive second quarter was a major factor in that early lead.

Verhulst went to the locker room as the game's leading scorer with 13 points, all of which came in the second quarter after a scoreless first quarter.

With OU starting the second quarter down 17-12, Verhulst was the first to score in the frame with a 3-pointer. She made three of six shots from beyond the arc during the quarter, including a make from the mid-court logo.

At the half, Verhulst outdid UConn star Paige Bueckers, who had 11 points and was benched at one point because of her defense.

Verhulst's outburst had Sooner Nation and every other college basketball fan watching raving.
