Finally, Oklahoma wide receiver Parker Livingstone was in front media himself and asked about the viral comments his old coach made about him at SEC Media Days last month. But as he's been since he got to Oklahoma from Texas, Livingstone was all class, which honestly shows he didn't belong in Austin anyway.
Livingstone joined the Sooners over the offseason after the Longhorns forced him out of Texas to make way for new players from the transfer portal. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian confirmed at SEC Media Days that leaving Austin wasn't Livingstone's choice, then also later took a shot at his former player when asked about Livingstone.
Other than a subtle post on X with the caption, "Doubt me now," Livingstone hadn't responded to Sark's comments yet until he was asked by media after Tuesday's practice.

"I think right now I'm just trying to focus on this team and fall camp," Livingstone said. "We've got four games until we play them so I'm kind of taking it one day at a time. That game's gonna come when it comes. It's gonna be a fun game. But right now I'm focused on fall camp and UTEP."
Sooners will benefit most from Texas' drama with Parker Livingstone
Basically, Livingstone took the high road. Between Sark's comments and fans harassing him on social media, he had plenty of ammo to unload right then but instead stayed tight-lipped. He didn't hand out any bulletin-board material for the Longhorns to plaster. He didn't give the story more life. If anything, Livingstone put an end to the drama that his old coach fueled and now likely won't be asked about his former school again until that second week of October when it's unavoidable.
That's obviously the opposite of how his old coach handled the situation, and Sarkisian had even less reason to take random shots.
"I mean, I hope we kick his ass," Sarkisian said when asked about Livingstone at SEC Media Days. "It's the Red River Rivalry, you know what I mean? He chose to go there. He's on the other side. ...
"At the end of the day, it's competition. After the game, I'm sure I'll give him a big hug. Before that, we're trying to beat his ass. That's the way it goes."
And that comment was after Sarkisian, unprompted, proclaimed that Texas cut ties with Livingstone and other players to replace them with transfer portal additions, and are now better because of it.
"I think we all can agree that we’re probably better around (quarterback) Arch (Manning) today than we were a year ago at this time," Sarkisian said after mentioning Livingstone by name.
And just like that, Livingstone had even more motivation for not only the rest of his career, but especially on Oct. 10, when the Sooners and Longhorns meet in Dallas for the Red River Rivalry. It was already enough fuel to ignite something special that a team ran him out of town because they didn't believe he was good enough. Sark then threw a lit match on the kerosene he poured himself with his SEC Media Days comments.
There are plenty of lessons Sark could learn from Livingstone, but more importantly, all of this only benefits the Sooners as Livingstone makes sure the Longhorns don't gain anything from the back and forth. OU gained a talented young receiver who's listed at 6-foot-3 and will start immediately. That will obviously help Oklahoma on a weekly basis. But Sarkisian and Texas keep loading up the Sooners' not-so-secret weapon that could be the difference in ending their Red River Rivalry losing streak.
