What a moment for Oklahoma ace Kyson Witherspoon.

The Boston Red Sox on Sunday took Witherspoon, a right-handed pitcher, with the 15th overall pick of the 2025 MLB Draft. No top prospects attended the MLB Draft in Atlanta, Georgia, but cameras at Witherspoon's home caught the priceless moment of when his name was called while surrounded by his family.

Witherspoon was one of the best pitchers in college baseball this past season as the Sooners' ace and Friday starter. He posted a 2.65 ERA and 10-4 record in 16 starts as a junior. His ERA was the second-best in the SEC and No. 22 nationally, and his 124 strikeouts were also fifth in the conference and sixth in the country.

He was named a First-Team All-American by Baseball America, D1Baseball, NCBWA and Perfect Game, and was a Second-Team All-American by ABCA. He was also a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award, which goes to the best player in college baseball.

Just a bit after Kyson's moment, his twin brother and teammate, Malachi, was also drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the second round. The two could become the first twins to make the MLB after being drafted the same year since 1996, according to MLB.com. The last duo to do it was Ryan and Damon Minor, also from OU.

Kyson was still around to also enjoy his twin's moment with their mom and the rest of the family.
