We all knew who Oklahoma legend Trae Young would pick to win between the No. 18 Sooners and No. 15 Michigan Wolverines, but his belief in his old school didn't quite rub off on the rest of the ESPN College GameDay crew.
The Sooners and Wolverines will clash in a top-20 battle between college football blue bloods at 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday on ABC. The only ranked matchup of Week 2 brought College GameDay to Norman for its first show without Lee Corso as part of the crew.
Young, a four-time NBA All-Star from Norman who went to OU, was the guest picker to join the crew for its first set of predictions without Corso's famous headgear pick.
ESPN College GameDay panel split about Oklahoma vs. Michigan
Just like Young's pick, Desmond Howard's wasn't a surprise either as a former Heisman Trophy winner for the Wolverines. He started the predictions by picking his alma mater.
Former coaching great Nick Saban, who's supposed to know ball, then mimicked Howard's decision and predicted Michigan to beat the Sooners inside Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Saban could still have some resentment, though, after losing to the Sooners in his only meeting against them as Alabama's head coach. OU also upset the Crimson Tide last season in Norman.
"I think Oklahoma has revamped their roster," Saban said. "They lost a lot of guys, they gained a lot of guys, especially the quarterback, John Mateer.
"But I'm telling you, Michigan didn't have any offense last year and won like eight games. They have a quarterback this year, and I know he's a freshman, and they got a good defense, so I'm picking Michigan."
Trae Young responded with, "There's a lot of legends in the building, and we can obviously see most of them are against us. But this is our second time playing Michigan. The last time we played them, we all know the result. We ultimately won the championship at the end of the year. For me, I'm having that same feeling, like I'm having that same type of vibe.
"Sooners by 50, man, let's go!"

Instead of Corso's headgear selection, McAfee ended the picks by agreeing with Young and picking the Sooners to beat Michigan and splitting the panel.
