Oklahoma women's gymnastics is busy preparing for the most important portion of its 2025 season.

The Sooners are the top seed in the Seattle Regional and the No. 2 overall seed in the 2025 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships. The Seattle Regional, one of four regional locations in the road to the national championship, will take place at the Alaska Airlines Arena in Spokane, Washington, on Thursday before concluding Sunday.

The Sooners are the 2-seed behind defending national champion LSU

Six-time national champion Oklahoma is one of nine teams that will be competing in the Spokane Regional. Besides the Sooners, other participants are No. 7 Missouri, No. 10 Georgia, No. 14 Auburn, Nebraska, Arizona, Arizona State, Illinois and UC Davis.

The Sooners are 21-2 this season with both losses coming to defending national champion LSU, the No. 1 overall seed in this year's championships.

Thirty-six teams qualified for the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships, based on national qualifying scores. The NQS is determined by taking each team's top six scores of the season. The best score is dropped and the remaining five are averaged to come up with a single score. Oklahoma's NQS was 198.040, trailing only the 198.115 posted by No. 1 LSU.

Nine teams compete at each of the four regional locations with the top-2 teams in each region moving on to Fort Worth, Texas, on April 17-19 for the NCAA Championships. In addition to the eight teams that advance to the championship, the top all-around competitor from each region will also advance. The other three regional sites are Salt Lake City, Utah; State College, Pennsylvania; and Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Earlier this week, OU senior Jordan Bowers was named SEC Gymnast of the Year, and seven other Sooners received All-SEC honors. The Sooners also boast two team members with the highest national score in two of the four individual events. Audrey Davis' 9.960 NQS on the uneven bars ranks No. 1 nationally, and Faith Torrez shares the top national score on the floor (9.970) with Jordan Chiles of UCLA.

The Sooners are seeking their 15th consecutive regional championship and 21st straight trip to the NCAA Championships. This is K.J. Kindler's 20th season as head coach of the OU women's gymnastics program.
