Anyone who cares about Oklahoma women's basketball is holding their breath right now.

The Sooners' star player, Raegan Beers, left Sunday's 77-62 win against Texas A&M early because of a left shoulder injury. Beers suffered the injury in the third quarter before returning to the bench with an ice pack on her shoulder and never entered the game again.

OU coach Jennie Baranczyk did not have any details of Beers' injury to share yet during her postgame press conference.

"I don't necessarily have any details yet and I haven't really been briefed, I haven't been able to talk to our traineryet," Baranczyk said. "But I'm hoping for the best, obviously."

The game was already a blowout by the time Beers suffered the injury. Despite leaving early, Beers still led the Sooners with 16 points and also pulled in six rebounds.

Beers, a 6-foot-4 center, has been one of the best players in the country this season. She has been the Sooners' leading scorer from the beginning and averages 17.3 points through 17 games. Beers also averages 9.4 rebounds a game and has tallied seven double-doubles this season.

A junior, Beers started her career at Oregon State before transferring during the offseason as an Associated Press Third-Team All-American. She averaged 17.5 points for the Beavers last season. She averaged 13.3 points as a freshman while earning Pac-12 Freshman of the Year honors.

The Sooners have relied heavily on their inside game this season, including 32 points from inside the paint on Sunday against Texas A&M. Beers has been the biggest contributor there, so losing Beers for any length of time could be detrimental for OU, especially with such a daunting SEC schedule.

OU hosts Missouri (11-8, 0-4) at 6 p.m. CT Thursday at Lloyd Noble Center.
