Over a weekend featuring multiple Oklahoma athletic events and activities and positive results all around, the No. 1 Oklahoma women's gymnastics team delivered its best performance of the season.
It could be said that the Sooners saved their best for last, this being the final home meet of the 2025 season at Lloyd Noble Center. Oklahoma defeated No. 17 Michigan, posting a season-high score of 198.200 to the Wolverines' 196.900. This was OU's second 198 score of the season. The Sooners recorded 13 such scores last season.
Oklahoma completed the 2025 home season at the LNC with a perfect 5-0 record, the 11th consecutive year the Sooners have gone undefeated. OU is 90-0 at home over that span,
The Sooners are 14-1 this season and 6-1 against SEC opponents. Their lone loss was to No. 2 LSU 198.050-197.675 in a dual meet at LSU on Feb. 14.
Oklahoma prevailed in all four team events and never trailed after scoring 49.325 on vault in the opening rotation. Michigan started out on bars, posting a 49.175.
The Sooners extended their advantage with a 49.650 on bars in the second rotation behind a pair of near-perfect 9.975 performances by graduate Audrey Davis and senior Jordan Bowers.
OU scored 49.475 on beam, its second-highest mark of the season in that event. Two Sooners scored 9.975 in Bowers and junior Faith Torrez on this event, as well.
Oklahoma finished the evening on floor, where its 49.650 score assured its overall 198 team score.
Bowers claimed three individual titles, included the all-around with a season-high score of 39.775. She also shared event titles on bars and beam. Bowers shared top score on bars with Davis and on beam with Torrez. OU freshman Lilly Pederson was the individual champion on vault.
The Sooners retained their No. 1 ranking this week with a National Qualifying Score of 197.965. Rounding out the top five teams nationally based on NQS were LSU (197.825), Florida (197.760), UCLA (197.600) and Utah (197.515), respectively.
NQS is based on a team's six best team scores of the season. Three of the scores must be in competition on the road. The top score is eliminated, and the five remaining scores are averaged. NQS scores are used to determine seedings for NCAA regional competition.
Oklahoma is ranked in the top two nationally on all four events: No. 1 on bars (49.585) and floor (49.595) and No. 2 on vault (49.445) and beam (49.515). Bowers ranks No. 3 in the country in the all-around and is No. 1 nationally on floor. Torrez ranks No. 4 in all-around and leads the category in vault and shares No. 1 with Bowers on floor.
The Sooners will finish out the regular season with a dual competition at Georgia on Friday.
