Some Oklahoma fans are already ready to fast-forward to 2027 after the Sooners dropped to 4-4 and fully lost all CFP hopes, but there's still a full month and four games left, starting with a trip to No. 25 Florida on Saturday.

The Sooners will make their first-ever trip to Gainesville this week and will get the full experience of The Swamp, with a night game under the lights. This marquee matchup, though, has been overshadowed by head coach Brent Venables firing offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle on Monday and promoting tight ends coach Jason Witten as the new play-caller.

It doesn't matter who the Sooners were playing on Saturday; it would finally be must-watch TV for Sooner Nation to see what OU's offense will look like with Arbuckle gone and Witten in control. It could also be the first chance to see Whitt Newbauer or Bowe Bentley finally get meaningful snaps at quarterback if John Mateer is benched, which is still apparently TBD.

Here's everything you need to know ahead of the Sooners' trip to Florida after a week of change:

All-time series between Oklahoma and Florida

This will be just the third all-time meeting between these two storied programs, and the first time they'll clash in the regular season or on a campus. The first meeting was when the Gators beat OU in the 2009 BCS National Championship Game, and then the Sooners split the series with a win in the Cotton Bowl in 2020.
