The 2026 NFL Draft was quite the successful one for the Oklahoma football program. Seven Sooners were selected in the three-day event, the most since 2022. The Sooners also had four undrafted free agents sign with NFL teams who will have to create their own path onto an NFL roster.
Edge rusher Marvin Jones Jr. signed a contract with the Seattle Seahawks. He spent his final season of college football at Oklahoma after spending parts of his career at Georgia and Florida State. Jones was a steady part of the Sooners' defense, where he had 21 tackles, five tackles for loss and two sacks in 2025. Jones has all the elements and tools to be an NFL defensive lineman, and if he's able to put it together in Seattle, he could be a constant in the league for years to come.
What is the outlook for undrafted Sooners to make NFL rosters?
Running back Jadyn Ott and his playing time, or lack of it, was a massive topic among OU fans and his time as a Sooner was filled with controversy. The wild events of the end of his college career continued over the weekend when he reunited with former OU running backs coach DeMarco Murray in Kansas City when he signed with the Chiefs.

Ott was one of the best running backs in the country after his 2023 season at Cal, but injuries and inconsistency makes him a relative unknown as he enters the league. If Ott is able to regain his 2023 confidence and stride, he could absolutely find himself making the Chiefs roster. But a backfield with Kenneth Walker III, Emari Demercado and sixth-round pick Emmitt Johnson make things extremely tough for Ott to stay in KC.
Defensive tackle Damonic Williams was another steady force along the defensive line for Oklahoma the past couple of seasons at TCU, where he was a Freshman All-American and All-Big 12 honorable mention in his time as a Horned Frog. Williams had massive expectations when he arrived to Oklahoma and he provided excellent depth along a loaded defensive line.
Williams appeared in 25 games as a Sooner while making 23 starts between 2024 and 2025. He produced in a massive way with 62 tackles and nine tackles for loss over the last two seasons. The Arizona Cardinals took notice and signed him to an free agent contract. This is an excellent spot for him. The Cardinals were one of the worst teams in the NFL last season and need talent all over their roster. They have up nearly 29 points per game, and Williams could provide immediate help along their defensive line.
The final undrafted free agent signing was wide receiver Keontez Lewis, who signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Lewis became the security blanket for quarterback John Mateer last season. It felt like anytime time Oklahoma needed to convert a third down or was looking to complete a crucial pass, Lewis was his guy. An unfortunate injury against Kent State really derailed his season, though, and he never really recovered.
If Lewis is able to make the Buccaneers roster with former Sooner Baker Mayfield as his QB, it's going to have to be because he made his way as a special teams player. Even with the departure of Mike Evans, they still have a loaded receiver room, which makes things difficult for Lewis to make the 53-man roster.
