The Oklahoma Sooners are assuring worthy talent doesn't leave their own state, unlike the other Power Four program in the Sooner State.

Owasso High School wide receiver Julius Wilson announced via X on Thursday that he added an offer from the in-state Sooners after being left out to dry by Oklahoma State right before the Early Signing Period started.

Owasso's Julius Wilson picks up OU offer

After initially committing to Oklahoma State immediately after its offer in November, Wilson posted on Dec. 2, the day before signing day, that he was no longer committed to the Cowboys, and it was clear it was not because of his own doing as Eric Morris took over as OSU's new head coach and transformed the 2026 recruiting class by pulling multiple offers to in-state players.

"Due to recent changes in my recruitment with Oklahoma State, I will be continuing my journey at Owasso this season. I’ll keep working hard, stay ready, and remain focused as I explore new opportunities for the future," Wilson wrote.

Wilson had a breakout senior season at Owasso to pop up on the radars of some major college football programs, including OSU, Tulsa, Kansas State, Texas Tech and eventually the Sooners. He just visited K-State on Friday. According to MaxPreps, Wilson caught 52 passes for 907 yards and 12 touchdowns in 10 games this season at the highest level of high school football in Oklahoma.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Wilson, listed at 6-foot-4, is a three-star recruit in the 2026 class and the No. 25 overall prospect in the state. Had he broke out sooner, Wilson likely would have risen as one of the top recruits in Oklahoma.

The Sooners already added one receiver from the same town to their 2026 class. Xavier "ZiZi" Okwufulueze, a 6-foot-5 receiver from Rejoice Christian School, signed with OU in December. Wilson will not be able to officially sign with anyone until Wednesday, Feb. 4, after having a limited time to make a decision, but now he at least has the option to stay in his home state.
