The Oklahoma Sooners are the 2025 NCAA champions in women's gymnastics, and they did it in dominant fashion.

OU finished first with a winning team score of 198.0125 in the championship finals on Saturday in Fort Worth, Texas. No. 4 UCLA finished second with a score of 197.6125.

Missouri (187.2500), the lowest seed of the four finalists at No. 7, jumped over Utah in the final rotation to claim third place in its first-ever NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships final. Utah, the No. 4 national seed in the championship, was fourth with 197.2375.

Sooners win seventh women's gymnastics national championship

Starting out with four extraordinary 9.9 scores in its opening rotation on beam, Oklahoma took the early lead and never relinquished the fast early start in capturing its seventh national title in women's gymnastics and third in the last four years.

OU and UCLA were tied after the first rotation, both with opening scores of 49.6125, but the Sooners gradually widened their advantage over the final three rotations.

"It's like a fairy tale come true, there's nothing like it," said senior and 2025 all-around champion Jordan Bowers.

Oklahoma posted the highest team score on beam and on vault, which ironically was the event that kept the Sooners out of the Four on the Floor finals in last year's NCAA Championships.

The Sooners finished second to UCLA on floor, and third behind UCLA and Utah on bars in their final rotation. Audrey Davis' 9.925 score on bars in the No. 5 spot clinched the national title for Oklahoma with one Sooner performer, Bowers, still to go.

The Sooners will lose several core members of this national championship squad, including Davis, Bowers and Danielle Sievers, but the future still looks bright with over 50% of this year's roster made up of freshmen and sophomores.

Several OU freshman, Lilly Pederson, Ella Mueller, Addison Fatta and Keira Wells, were prime contributors to the 2025 national championship run.
