Sooners must-play in CFB26
EA Sports College Football 26 came out on Thursday, and Sooner Nation is going to have a lot of fun.
Oklahoma is probably the funnest team to play as in the video game thanks to quarterback John Mateer and other playmakers. There are weapons at receiver with Deion Burks, Jayden Gibson and Isaiah Sategna that seem to always be open, especially when going deep.
Mateer also has a stacked group of running backs to hand the ball off to with the top four all having an overall rating of at least 83. With that rating of 83, Taylor Tatum could be the most underrated player on the roster with a speed rating of 94.
I also used CFB26's ratings to project OU's two-deep depth chart.
Texas crowd gets dissed
It's always a good day when Sooner Nation gets some praise while Texas fans get dissed.
Twice this offseason, Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium was ranked as a better atmosphere than Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin. Most recently, on Thursday,Blake Toppmeyer ranked all 16 SEC stadiums for USA Today, and put OU's at No. 8, one spot ahead of Texas.
To top it off, Toppmeyer even took a dig at Texas' lackluster atmosphere.
"Texas earns its reputation for having a bit of a 'wine and cheese crowd' amid its 100,119 capacity, but Longhorns fans still can turn it up for big games," Toppmeyer wrote.
Fears makes NBA debut
Jeremiah Fears came out hot in his NBA debut with the New Orleans Pelicans during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
Fears started the game with a deep 3-pointer for his first points as a pro before finishing with 14 points on 4-of-12 shooting with two rebounds and two assists. However, Fears did look like a rookie point guard at times with seven turnovers.
