OU women's gymnastics after national title

Once again, Oklahoma women's gymnastics is back in the NCAA Championships.

With the top two advancing, OU won the NCAA Seattle Regional Final on Sunday night with a score of 198.450. It was the Sooners' 15th straight regional title.

Missouri finished second with a197.425, just barely beating out Auburn at 197.325 in an SEC showcase.

Jordan Bowers was tremendous on Sunday night, tallying three perfect 10s on the night in bars, floor and vault. Faith Torrez also scored a 10 on the floor.

OU will now compete for a national title against the top eight teams in the NCAA Championships on April 17-19 in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Sooners' semifinalist group includes all SEC teams with No. 3 Florida, No. 7 Missouri and No. 11 Alabama. The other group includes No. 1 LSU, No. 4 Utah, No. 5 UCLA and No. 8 Michigan State. The top two from each group will advance to the finals.

LSU sweeps Sooners in SEC baseball series

It was a top-10 SEC baseball series at L. Dale Mitchell Park, but it sure didn't look like the No. 10 Sooners belonged on the same diamond as the No. 7 LSU Tigers.

The Tigers swept the Sooners this weekend in Norman. Because of inclement weather, the series started early on Thursday with a 2-0 LSU win with OU's ace Kyson Witherspoon on the mound.

The Tigers then won Game 2, 10-2, and Game 3, 3-2, to finish the sweep. It was the first time since 2021 that OU was swept at home. It was also the first time since 1997 that LSU swept an SEC team on the road.

Next, the Sooners will host No. 17 Dallas Baptist on Wednesday night in Norman. The Patriots handed OU its first loss of the season after an 11-0 start.

Former OU coach headed to national championship

Kelvin Sampson finally reached the national championship game, it's just unfortunate it wasn't while leading the Sooners.

Sampson's Houston Cougars mounted a historic comeback to beat the Duke Blue Devils 70-67 in the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday night. Now, the Cougars will play the Florida Gators at 7:50 p.m. CT Monday night in San Antonio, Texas, with a national title on the line.

Sooner Nation cheered on Sampson's team during and after the wild ending, and likely still will be on Monday night. Sampson led the Sooners for 12 years and is still the winningest men's basketball coach in OU history. In 2002, Sampson had OU in the Final Four.
