Baseball hammers Missouri
Starting the SEC series of old Big 12 foes a day early, the Sooners hammered Missouri 17-4 in a run-rule win in eight innings on Thursday night.
Mizzou actually kept things close for a bit and the score was tied 3-3 at the end of the fourth inning. The Sooners then re-took the lead with a run in the fifth before erupting for five in the sixth.
Things really got out of hand when OU put up six runs in the eighth inning to initiate the run-rule.
Cade Crossland got the win on the mound after starting and going five innings. He gave up just one earned run while striking out four.
The series will continue with Game 2 at 6 p.m. CT Friday.
