One. More.

It was clear after an upset of Alabama last week and the newest College Football Playoff Rankings that all the No. 8 Oklahoma Sooners needed to do to make the 12-team playoff field was win their final two home games of the regular season to finish 10-2. After getting past the No. 22 Missouri Tigers 17-6 on Saturday at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, the Sooners are now just one win away from a playoff berth.

Oklahoma is a win against LSU away from College Football Playoff

The Sooners have essentially been in playoff mode since suffering their second loss of the season to Ole Miss on Oct. 25. Ever since the CFP rankings debuted this season, the Sooners had been on the outside looking in, and a third loss would have certainly popped their playoff bubble.

OU's road upset over then-No. 4 Alabama last week, though, propelled the Sooners right in the middle of the CFP picture, but a third loss would still dash all chances, even after back-to-back top-15 upsets on the road.

The Sooners have put together a "Red November" similar to the "Red October" the 2000 national championship Sooners accomplished. OU started the month with a 33-27 win against then-No. 14 Tennessee on Nov. 1 in Knoxville. Then, after a bye week, the Sooners pulled off the 23-21 stunner over the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa last week.

The final two weeks of November seemed to be the easiest obstacles of the month for the Sooners, but there's never a break in the SEC and the possibilities only build each week. Missouri hammered Mississippi State 49-27 last week and got its starting quarterback back for OU, but the Sooners still took care of the task at hand on Saturday.

Next, the Sooners will host LSU at 2:30 p.m. CT Saturday. The Tigers will be 7-4 coming off a win against Western Kentucky, but the Tigers already fired head coach Brian Kelly and are most concerned about trying to steal Lane Kiffin from Ole Miss to lead the Tigers. Regardless of the Tigers' situation, the circumstances are still the same for the Sooners, who just need to win no matter the opponent.

It's now more simple than ever. One more win, and the Sooners will be playing in the College Football Playoff.
