It didn’t take long for the Oklahoma Sooners to lure 2026 three-star linebacker Kristan Moore to Norman.
Moore on Monday, just two days before the early signing period opens on Wednesday, announced his commitment to the Sooners a day after decommitting from North Alabama and less than a week after getting the offer from OU.

The Sooners were late on Moore and didn’t offer him until Thursday before he ultimately flipped just four days later. Between that offer and committing, Moore was in Norman over the weekend for a visit during OU’s win against LSU. He also visited Oklahoma earlier this season on Sept. 6 before he was even offered.
Moore also visited Florida the week before his last trip to Norman, but never received an offer from the Gators between their coaching change. Moore held offers from Alabama State, Eastern Kentucky, Jackson State, Liberty, Samford and UT Martin, so OU clearly stood out as the lone Power Four offer as the Sooners clearly saw something almost the entire FBS did not.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Moore, listed at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, is the No. 125 linebacker in the 2026 class and No. 60 overall prospect in the state of Alabama out of Selma High School.
It’s worth noting that OU general manager Jim Nagy was the longtime executive director of the Senior Bowl, which is hosted in Mobile, Alabama, so Nagy is familiar enough with the territory to possibly uncover hidden gems. Only time will tell if recruiting ratings were correct about Moore.
This season, Moore tallied 91 tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and recovered a fumble. He also played running back and wide receiver for Selma High School.

Moore became the third linebacker added to the Sooners’ 2026 class. Four-star Jacob Curry just committed in October, but is listed as both a safety and linebacker. OU also landed three-star Beau Jandreau back in June. Linebacker Jakore Smith also just decommitted from OU last week before pledging to Arkansas on Monday.
The Sooners’ 2026 class ranks No. 15 in the country as of Monday, according to the 247Sports Composite.
