The Oklahoma Sooners needed to use the Transfer Portal to find depth at offensive line, but they probably just got even more than that with OU general manager Jim Nagy's latest pull.

Parker Thune of On3 and Rivals reported on Monday that Arkansas transfer offensive lineman E’Marion Harris committed to the Sooners with one year of eligibility left. He was the second offensive line commitment OU picked up on the day after former Western Kentucky and Virginia Tech offensive lineman Caleb Nitta pledged on Monday morning.

Arkansas OL E’Marion Harris commits to Oklahoma

Harris, listed at 6-foot-7 and 313 pounds, will get to Oklahoma with multiple years of SEC experience already under his belt. After playing in six games a reserve in 2023, Harris made 24 starts between the last two seasons, including all 13 games in 2024 and 11 this season.

He got to Arkansas in 2022 as a consensus four-star recruit out of Joe T. Robinson High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. OU also offered Harris in high school, but could not pull him away from his home state then.

Harris is versatile enough to play just about anywhere along the offensive line, which is a massive benefit, but according to Thune, Harris said OU expects him to play right tackle in 2026. Freshman Ryan Fodje ultimately took over that spot for the Sooners this season and should return, so either Harris is content with being a backup, or Bill Bedenbaugh could now have a different starting front than anticipated. It's least likely Harris transferred only to no longer be a starter in his final season of college football.

With four of five solidified starters returning, it seemed the Sooners' starting five was set with Michael Fasusi, Eddy Pierre-Louis, Jake Maikkula, Heath Ozaeta and Ryan Fodje, from left to right. However, with Harris now in the mix at right tackle, that could mean Fodje moving to right guard, where he was originally listed before cracking the starting lineup. That move would still fill the void left by Febechi Nwaiwu and have Ozaeta battling for a starting job or being OU's primary reserve.
