Everything points to the Oklahoma Sooners being favored in the Red River Rivalry against Texas, except for Vegas.

The undefeated and No. 6 Sooners play unranked Texas, which is coming off a loss at 3-2, at 2:30 p.m. CT Saturday in Dallas. Despite the Sooners still being undefeated as a top-10 team in the country, they're still considered underdogs against unranked Texas by every major betting platform as of the start of the week.

Betting odds favor Longhorns against Sooners

As of Monday, FanDuel and BetMGM had the smallest spread with Texas as a 2.5-point favorite. DraftKings set the spread at 3. The margin has at least slimmed since the Longhorns had massive expectations as the preseason No. 1 team and opened as 11.5-point favorites over OU this summer.

A lot has changed since the Red River Rivalry was one of the few college football games already with opening odds during the summer, though. Those who believed and cashed in on Texas then are definitely sweating it now through six weeks of the season.

After both teams have played five games, the Sooners are 5-0, while the Longhorns are just trying to stay above .500 at 3-2. Texas just lost to Florida, which halted a three-game losing streak with its win over the Longhorns. That loss made Texas the quickest preseason No. 1 team in the Associated Press Top 25 to go from the top to unranked.

The Longhorns haven't proven anything still without a Power Four victory, and although it seems national media with votes on the AP Top 25 have lost all hope, for some reason, Vegas still hasn't in the Longhorns. Or just possibly has no belief in the Sooners, who could be without starting quarterback John Mateer.

If Mateer is healthy enough to play after missing OU's last game with a hand injury, the odds will likely drastically swing in the Sooners' favor. Saturday night, though, OU head coach Brent Venables said he's assuming Mateer won't play, and the oddsmakers are apparently assuming the same.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
