The Oklahoma Sooners should have a new No. 1 Transfer Portal target that OU general manager Jim Nagy should just hand a blank check to.

In news that everyone but Auburn fans have been anticipating, On3's Hayes Fawcett reported on Monday that Auburn star wide receiver Cam Coleman is expected to enter the Transfer Portal once it officially opens on Friday. He not only immediately became the No. 1 receiver on the market this transfer cycle, but probably even the top player overall.

Auburn star WR Cam Coleman reportedly entering Transfer Portal

A consensus five-star recruit in 2024, Coleman, listed at 6-foot-3, has been Auburn's biggest superstar the past two seasons since arriving to campus. He'll have two years of eligibility left, but whoever gets Coleman next will likely have him for just one season before he heads to the NFL as a top prospect.

In 2024, Coleman broke out as a freshman with 37 receptions for 598 yards and eight touchdowns while averaging 16.2 yards a catch. He was named to the On3 True Freshman All-America and SEC All-Freshman teams after the season.

This season, while overcoming having Jackson Arnold as his quarterback most of the time, Coleman had a team-high 708 receiving yards and five TDs on 56 catches. OU fans saw firsthand what Coleman can do when he caught three passes for 88 yards and a TD against the Sooners.

The Sooners have avoided any losses at receiver to the portal, and are losing only Deion Burks and Keontez Lewis to graduation from the position so far. Step 1 at the position is to keep Isaiah Sategna III in Norman, but getting Coleman to Oklahoma should be just as high of a priority.

Even though the Sooners will return most of their receiving production from 2025, as long as Sategna sticks around, they still need to add an elite receiver that can be a game-changer while most of the position is still developing. Coleman's ability paired with Sategna's speed would give the Sooners the best receiver duo in the country next season.
