I guess we all knew Oklahoma's winning streak had to come to an end eventually.

No. 21 Dallas Baptist run-ruled the No. 13 Sooners 11-0 on Tuesday night in Dallas, where the 9-3 Patriots remained unbeaten this season. It was the first loss of the season for the Sooners after starting the year with an 11-game winning streak that included a pair of top-10 upsets.

The Patriots put up two runs apiece in the first and third innings before busting things wide open in the fourth with five runs. They then added two more in the sixth before not even needing to go to the plate after that because of the run-rule.

DBU first baseman Chayton Krauss took advantage of the gusting wind at Horner Ballpark with two-run homers over right field in the first and third innings to give the Patriots that early 4-0 cushion. He also had a single in the fourth that scored two, finishing 3-4 with six RBI and three runs.

While Krauss had three hits with two bombs by himself, OU as a team combined for just two hits. The Sooners didn't have any extra-base hits.

Lefty junior college transfer Cade Crossland picked up the loss in his first start for OU. He pitched 3.2 innings, giving up six runs on six hits and three walks. On the other side, Ryan Borberg shut down the Sooners for five innings before Mason Peters took over. Both gave up one hit apiece.

Although it was an overwhelming first loss, it does not diminish what the 2025 Sooners are capable of in their first season in the SEC. They not only proved they can string together wins with 11 straight, but they can also beat really good teams after taking down Oregon State and Virginia, which are both still ranked in the top 10. All that is a recipe for a successful postseason run.

The 11-0 start was the best ever under coach Skip Johnson, who has already led the Sooners to the College World Series finals in 2022. OU started that season with a 14-4 loss to Arizona in its second game of the season.

Next, the Sooners will host Sam Houston for a three-game series this weekend at L. Dale Mitchell Park. That will be OU's final nonconference series before opening up its first run through the daunting SEC the next weekend against South Carolina.
