There's a chance just one high school football program in California produces almost all of the Oklahoma Sooners' future starting wide receivers.
The Sooners this week already extended an extremely early offer to 2029 wide receiver Anthony Uzondu from St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California. On the same day Uzondu announced his OU offer, so did his teammate and fellow receiver DJ Tubbs. If they ultimately commit to the Sooners, they would join fellow St. John Bosco High School alum and OU freshman receiver Daniel Odom in Norman.
Anthony Uzondu offer further grows OU's pipeline from St. John Bosco High School
All three were on a St. John Bosco High School team in 2025 that went 9-2 and averaged 40.5 points a game. Quarterback Koa Malau'ulu had the honor of leading such a talented passing attack. Malau'ulu is a three-star 2028 recruit with offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Colorado, Duke, Michigan, Oregon, Texas Tech, UCLA, Utah, Washington and more.

Uzondu, listed at 6-foot-3, is just now finishing up his freshman year of high school but already has multiple Power Four offers, including from Arizona, UCLA and Washington. The Sooners already having eyes on Odom and Tubbs, and a relationship already built with the coaching staff, definitely helped them discover Uzondu early as just the second 2029 receiver OU has offered.
Tubbs is a year older than Uzondu as a three-star prospect in the 2028 class. According to the 247Sports Composite, Tubbs, listed at 5-foot-10, is the No. 37 wide receiver in the class and No. 28 player in state of California.
Odom was a four-star receiver from the 2026 class who just signed with the Sooners in December. He was the No. 60 receiver in his class and No. 40 player in the state.
The Sooners have been recruiting the state of California heavily to develop a strong pipeline to Norman, but that pipeline has a direct outlet to St. John Bosco High School.
