The Oklahoma Sooners are having a historic season thanks to their unbelievable feats at the plate that somewhat overshadows the tremendous pitching. The grand slam by Isabela Emerling in the sixth inning of the Ole Miss series finale on Monday was easily the most impressive comeback win so far in 2026, but the arms in the circle also shined in the second conference series sweep, where they combined for only four earned runs during the three games.
Among the OU pitchers, Audrey Lowry had the greatest weekend as she breezed through the Rebels battling order without adding numbers on the scoreboard. The southpaw appeared on Saturday and Monday, earning her 14th and 15th wins as a sophomore and was ultimately named the SEC Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
Audrey Lowry erasing any early-season doubts for Sooners pitching
Lowry started the Saturday game and immediately struck out two Ole Miss batters in the first frame while denying all but two taps in her 5.0 innings of work. She was relieved by freshman Allyssa Parker in the sixth inning as Parker closed the game early with Oklahoma picking up a 10-0 run-rule shutout.
Lowry returned on Monday to relieve Sydney Berzon during the fifth inning, when up to that point Oklahoma was trailing Ole Miss by a single run. The last two frames had Lowry close out the series the same way she began it and struck out five batters to seal the 5-2 victory after Emerling triggered the late-run explosion.
Although the beginning of the season had uncertainty about Oklahoma taking a pitching-by-committee approach, Lowry has been in the midst of breakout year and the most consistent arm in the circle. Her ERA has never gone above 2.35 in the first 18 appearances, while her 15-1 record is the second-most wins in the SEC behind only Florida’s Keagan Rothrock with 17-2.
