If there is any doubt which conference is the best and brightest in college baseball, you need look no further than the lineup of teams participating in the 2026 Men's College World Series. A record five SEC teams, including the Oklahoma Sooners, make up the eight-team field competing starting this week for the 2026 NCAA championship.

The Sooners were the final team to punch their ticket to the MCWS with a dominating 13-2 win over No. 15 national seed Kansas on Monday to sweep the Lawrence Super Regional in two games. Prior to the Sooners, No. 3 Georgia, No. 6 Texas, No. 7 Alabama and Ole Miss won their Super Regionals to earn the prized trip to Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.

Sooners part of crowding Omaha with a record amount of teams

The order of magnitude of SEC teams that made it into the NCAA Baseball Championship speaks to the exceptional talent and quality of teams that compete in the sport of baseball in the conference. Twelve of the 16 SEC teams qualified for this year's NCAA Tournament, and seven of the 12 advanced beyond the first weekend to the Super Regionals. Four of the eight Super Regional sites were hosted by SEC teams, with three of those teams holding home serve and advancing to the MCWS.

Oklahoma and Ole Miss were the only SEC teams of the five that are still alive that had to go on the road for both the regional and super regional rounds to earn their way to Omaha.

Ole Miss is the only SEC team on the side of the MCWS bracket that begins play on Friday. The Rebels (41-21) will take on No. 5 national seed North Carolina (50-12-1) in the second game on Friday.

The Saturday side of the bracket is all SEC with OU (38-22) facing No. 7 Alabama (42-19), followed by No. 3 Georgia (51-12) and No. 6 Texas (45-13). What that means, however, is that at least two of these four SEC teams will no longer be alive in the tournament by the time Wednesday's games roll around. It also guarantees an SEC team will make the championship series.

According to FanDuel, Georgia at +300 and Texas at +320 have the best odds of the SEC teams to take home this year's MCWS championship trophy. The North Carolina Tar Heels are the overall betting favorites at +290.

FanDuel has Oklahoma's odds of winning it all at +1800. Only Troy (+2700) has higher odds than the Sooners.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.

The chances of an SEC team winning this year's College World Series are additionally supported by recent history. The SEC has captured seven of the past eight national championships and 14 of the 25 held since 2000.

Texas is the most decorated of the eight CWS teams in terms of historical achievement in the NCAA Tournament. The Longhorns are six-time national champions and also have six runner-up finishes. Oklahoma has the next most national titles with two, in 1951 and 1994, plus a runner-up finish in 2022.

Georgia and Ole Miss are each making their seventh MCWS appearances and both programs have one national title to their credit. North Carolina, like Oklahoma, is making its 12th appearance, but has never won a national championship, nor has Alabama in five previous trips to Omaha. West Virginia and Troy are making their initial trips to the MCWS this season.
