The Transfer Portal seal has been broken in Oklahoma.
OU offensive lineman Isaiah Dent on Monday via social media announced his plans to enter the Transfer Portal once it officially opens on Jan. 2. He became the fourth known Sooner so far with intentions to transfer this cycle.
Isaiah Dent announces plans to enter Transfer Portal
"First and foremost, I want to give all praise to God who is the head of my life, for giving me the ability to play the game of football," Dent wrote in his announcement. "I'm truly grateful for the incredible, life changing experience I've had at the University of Oklahoma. The dedication of the staff, the camaraderie with my teammates, and the unwavering support from the fans have made this journey unforgettable. I've learned lessons on and off the field that I will carry with me for the rest of my life, and I'm thankful for every moment, every challenge, and every triumph along the way. ...
"This decision wasn't made LIGHTLY. I've given it a great deal of thought and prayed for guidance. I'm grateful for the connections I've made here, the mentors who pushed me to be my best, and the memories that will always hold a special place in my heart."
After much prayer and family talks, I’ll enter the transfer portal on January 2 with three years of eligibility left. Thank you #SoonerNation pic.twitter.com/AM15EMHlHV

Dent, listed at 6-foot-6 and 318 pounds, will have up to four years of eligibility remaining after barely playing during his two seasons with the Sooners. He appeared in just one game against Maine in 2024 while redshirting and didn't see the field at all this season. Dent was a consensus three-star recruit in the 2024 class from Fulton, Mississippi.
The Sooners are loaded with young talent at offensive tackle, which vanished Dent's opportunity. By the end of the season, both of OU's regular starting tackles -- Michael Fasusi and Ryan Fodje -- were freshmen who will be top priorities for the Sooners to return in 2026 as starters again. However, if healthy, Dent could have been a key depth piece for the Sooners next season.
With the Sooners' season over after a loss to Alabama in the first round of the College Football Playoff and the transfer window looming, these announcements will start coming up at rapid fire, especially from players like Dent who got little playing time in Oklahoma.
