What should soon be a flood of commitments from the 2026 recruiting class for the Oklahoma Sooners started Tuesday afternoon.
According to multiple reports, four-star wide receiver Daniel Odom committed to the Sooners on Tuesday as their first receiver pledge from the class. It must have been the offer Odom was waiting for, because he committed to the Sooners the same day they reportedly offered.
Listed at 6-foot-1, Odom is one of the best receivers from the 2026 class out of St. John Bosco in California. He's a consensus four-star prospect according to every major recruiting service.
Rivals is the highest on Odom, ranking him as the No. 25 wide receiver in the class. The outlet also ranks Odom as the 19th-best overall prospect in the state.
Still early in the recruiting cycle, Odom is the Sooners' fourth commitment so far from the 2026 class, all of which have been offensive players. He's also the second from the state of California, forming a long pipeline with quarterback Jaden O'Neal.
According to Parker Thune of Rivals, Odom is a close friend of O'Neal's, which could have been vital in getting Odom to Norman. The two will also already have chemistry their first day on campus next year.
O'Neal quickly posted on X to celebrate Odom's commitment.

O'Neal has recently assured his allegiance to the Sooners despite OU offering another quarterback from the 2026 class in Bowe Bentley, who is also a four-star recruit like O'Neal.
Since Bentley was offered, O'Neal attended OU's junior day in Norman over the weekend and was active on social media throughout the experience. He even posted a picture with new OU quarterback John Mateer, essentially re-stating his commitment despite the rumors. It's also safe to say Odom probably wouldn't have committed if there was a chance O'Neal would flip his decision.

Odom and O'Neal join tight end Ryder Mix and offensive lineman Will Conroy as other 2026 commits so far for the Sooners.
