Oklahoma is the consensus No. 1 gymnastics school in the country right now.
The OU women's gymnastics team has been atop the rankings since the beginning of the season. The OU men are also No. 1 for the third week in a row.
And gymnastics rankings at this point in the season aren't just based on eye test, strength of schedule and opinions. From now on, rankings are based on each team's three highest scores.
At the halfway point of the season, the OU women boast an average score of 197.746. LSU is second with a 197.400. The two top teams will meet Friday night in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the Sooners already beat LSU earlier this season, 197.950-197.650. This next meeting will be televised on ESPN2.
The OU women are 10-0 through six weeks of the season with six meets left. The SEC Championship will be March 22 in Birmingham, Alabama.
The OU men have been ranked No. 1 for four weeks of the season, including three straight. The Sooners do have a blemish, though, at 8-1, but post an average score of 329.000, ahead of Stanford's 325.850.
The Sooners lost their second meet of the season to No. 2 Stanford, 328.850-327.200. They've won seven in a row since, though, including a 329.100-328.850 revenge over Stanford.
The OU men will host Michigan and Simpson on Saturday at McCasland Field House. The meet will be streamed on ESPN+. The Sooners already beat Simpson once this season and the Wolverines get to Norman as the No. 6 team in the country.
