The Roger Denny era has officially began at Oklahoma, and his first weekend as the Sooners' athletic director is absolutely loaded as one of the busiest three-day spans the OU campus will experience.
Denny has deemed this weekend "Crimson Crossover Weekend" at OU as the Sooners will host 10 different events across seven different sports, including baseball, track & field, women's gymnastics, men's tennis, men's basketball, women's tennis and women's basketball. And that's also not even counting softball and men's gymnastics that's on the road this weekend.
Sooners hosting 10 events in 7 sports
Kicking off our tenure together in a huge way. Crimson Crossover Weekend. 10 events. 3 days. Show up, be loud, and let’s roll. #Boomer https://t.co/SDEH1HAIjl

OU track & field will host the Crimson and Cream Qualifier throughout the day on Friday before baseball and women's gymnastics both have big-time events that evening.
After going undefeated during opening weekend, OU baseball will host Coppin State for a three-game series for its home opener at the newly renamed and renovated Kimrey Family Stadium, which used to be Dale Mitchell Park. Since last season, the stadium experienced updates to the outfield wall, batter's eye, bullpens, exterior fence and spectator areas behind the outfield wall, and there's still more to come. The Sooners will start at 4 p.m. CT Friday, then 2 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday.
Lloyd Noble Center will then host the most hyped women's gymnastics meet in years between the No. 1 Sooners and No. 2 LSU at 7:45 p.m. One of the two powerhouses has won the past four national titles, including OU last season, and it looks like one of these teams will win it again in 2026. The marquee matchup will be on ESPN2.
On Saturday, LNC will house OU men's basketball's game against Texas A&M. Although an SEC clash between old Big 12 rivals, the biggest reason for fans to show up is the jersey retirement for OU legend Buddy Hield at 7:30 p.m. It will also be a reminder of better times for OU men's basketball fans as Hield's Final Four team will be honored on its 10th anniversary.
Men's tennis will also host South Carolina on Saturday while baseball continues its series.
On Sunday, baseball will finish up a hopeful sweep and women's tennis will host Arkansas and Air Force. Lloyd Noble Center will also host an event for the third day in a row when No. 11 OU women's basketball hosts No. 21 Tennessee at 1 p.m. The Sooners are riding a three-game winning streak and this will be their last ranked matchup of the regular season with two games left on the schedule after that.
Of all 10 events in Norman over the weekend, OU men's basketball is the only one predicted to lose, so if Porter Moser's squad can pull off a minor upset, the Sooners could very well welcome Denny with a perfect weekend.
