The touchdown scored by Michigan on the opening play of the third quarter on Saturday -- a 75-yard run by Alabama transfer Justice Haynes -- was the first and only touchdown the Oklahoma defense has allowed in the first two games of the 2025 season.

That one play was the lone highlight for the Wolverines as Oklahoma completely throttled the Michigan offense en route to an impressive 24-13 win over the 15th-ranked Wolverines and one that will provide a definite confidence boost as the Sooners get ready to embark on a brutal SEC conference schedule.

There are plenty of numbers that reveal the tale of the tape in just the second-ever meeting in the illustrious histories of these two college football heavyweights. Here are some of the more notable numbers from the Sooners' giant statement win on Saturday night over college football's winningest team all-time.

Oklahoma vs. Michigan by the numbers

2 -- The Sooners are now 2-0 against Michigan all-time with a third game scheduled next season.

5 -- Oklahoma appears, for the time being, to have resolved its tight end concerns. Converted linebacker Jaren Kanak caught five passes for 69 yards. He just missed a sixth catch and a potential touchdown grab on a throw by John Mateer that was high and just outside of his grasp in the corner of the end zone. In two games, Kanak has 11 catches for 159 yards.

8:27 - Time elapsed off the clock on Oklahoma's 16-play, 78-yard scoring drive in the fourth quarter that ended with a 22-yard field goal by Tate Sandell and gave the Sooners a 24-13 advantage with 1:44 remaining in the game.

16 -- Percentage of successful third-down conversions allowed by the Oklahoma defense through two games (4 of 25). That is seventh-best among FBS teams this season. Michigan was 3-of-11 in third-down conversion attempts against the Sooners.

47.8 -- Average punting yards by Grayson Miller, making his first start for Oklahoma, on four punts.

72 -- Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer completed 21 of 34 passes for 270 yards in the win over Michigan. The Washington State transfer has thrown for 662 yards in two games for Oklahoma with a 72% completion rate. The 662 passing yards are the second-most by an OU quarterback in his first two games.

101 -- Game-high receiving yards by OU wide receiver Deion Burks on seven receptions. It was his first 100-yard receiving game in seven games at Oklahoma. Six of his seven catches vs. Michigan came in the first half for 92 yards.

142 -- Michigan passing yards vs. Oklahoma. The Sooners yielded just 34 yards through the air in the season-opening win over Illinois State, giving them just 176 passing yards allowed in two games.
