The biggest news involving the Oklahoma Sooners on Tuesday was actually absolutely no news at all.

The official OU Athletics Facebook and X accounts posted a cryptic post that went viral and left fans scratching their heads about what it could mean. After some shots in the dark, from a new jersey patch sponsor being announced to a new uniform being unveiled, the most likely reason behind the post seems to be a Noah Kahan concert at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium next summer.

There's been no announcement or official report, but that's based on context clues from similar posts from other stadiums around the country.

Here's the extremely vague post that prompted all of this commotion:

How Oklahoma's cryptic post hints at a concert at Memorial Stadium

Kahan is a Grammy-nominated artist who's most famous for his song, "Stick Season." There have been recent rumors of a looming tour announcement, with a countdown clock recently appearing on Mastercard's Noah Kahan website. The clock is scheduled to hit zero at 9 a.m. CT on Thursday, which is when an announcement should be made to confirm whether OU will host a concert and when.

Under the countdown is a tab that's titled "Noah Kahan Presents The Last Of The Bugs Tour," hence how we got to this assumption from the picture of a butterfly. Next to that title is a picture of 17 different flying insects with blanks below them. Those blanks should eventually be filled in with tour dates and locations.

The butterfly from OU's post matches the sixth insect that the site lists.

OU also isn't the only athletic department to have a post like this on Tuesday. Georgia also did, but a different butterfly, at the same exact time: 11 a.m. CT. That confirms this announcement isn't just related to the Sooners, as multiple other accounts for major football stadiums have also made the post.

There are enough clues there for Sooner Nation and fans of Kahan to start getting excited for a concert inside Memorial Stadium soon. Whether that money goes toward OU's NIL fund or not, as Oklahoma State has done by hosting its "Boys from Oklahoma" concert series, is still to be determined.

Memorial Stadium has hosted big-time concerts before and, in reality, is the largest concert venue the state has to offer if a major artist like Kahan wants to put on a show here.

Just this past summer, Luke Combs, along with Dierks Bentley, Ty Myers, Jake Worthington, and Thelma & James, performed on Owen Field, with some special appearances from OU's football program.

Past concerts also include the Oklahoma Twister Relief Concert, which raised money after the tornadoes in Moore in 2013. That show included a loaded list of stars, featuring Toby Keith, Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson, and Sammy Hagar.

Universities are finding any means necessary to earn a dollar now, so the Sooners are smart to use the resources they have, like Memorial Stadium, to help finance even more success in that same venue on Saturdays in the fall. With concerts in back-to-back summers, this could become an annual occurrence in Norman.
