It's been almost a week, and ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit still can't get over the pants that Oklahoma kicker Tate Sandell wore during the Sooners' 33-27 win over Tennessee on Saturday.

Sandell trotted out in what were basically shorts on Saturday night as he drilled four field goals of more than 40 yards to be the hero in the Sooners' victory. Herbstreit witnessed it all first-hand while on the call and virally called Sandell's pants "Daisy Dukes." On Thursday, Herbstreit was on "The Pat McAfee Show" to talk NFL and was still going on about Sandell.

McAfee gave Sandell a shoutout on social media on Saturday night, writing "This Oklahoma kicker, Sandell, is a MONSTER" and deemed Sandell the "Short Pants King." McAfee also told Herbstreit in the post that he witnessed greatness.

Herbstreit on Thursday, though, pointed out that McAfee didn't wear pants that short when he was a punter for the Indianapolis Colts.

"Those were shorts, dude," Herbstreit said. "They were not just covered up above the knee. Those were short shorts."

But in those short shorts, Sandell made history. He first nailed a 55-yarder that not only tied his career-long, but also broke the Neyland Stadium record for longest field goal. He set a school record with three made field goals of more than 50 yards in a single game. He also established new single-season school records with six field goals of 50-plus yards and 12 from 40 or more.

Sandell also admitted after the game that he didn't know his pants were that short. His pants ripped during pregame warmups and kept falling down throughout the game, so Sandell kept hiking them up.

"The Sandell, I think is his name, great kicker," McAfee said. "This kid out of Oklahoma. Great.

"I mean, you gotta be good to have the amount of confidence that he has to roll out there with those shorts where they're at."

And even though he apparently can't stand what Sandell wore, Herbstreit still had to admit Sandell had an unbelievable performance and was a big reason why the Sooners are still College Football Playoff contenders.

"He's a hammer, I mean, for a little guy," Herbstreit said. "... Keep the dream alive with that leg. Keep the dream alive. They go to Tuscaloosa in a couple of weeks, but right now, their dream is still alive. That's a brutal schedule."
