The Oklahoma softball team is not a team that loses very often; they are a team that is expected to win. Those expectations come not just from the coaching staff, but the fans as well, and when a loss does happen, it's not very pretty.
Head coach Patty Gasso holds her team to a very high standard, but as winning has become more of the expectation, the fans have also held the team to as high a standard. The Sooners are expected to host a Regional and Super Regional every season and are also expected to be in the Women's College World Series.
So, when things don't go as they normally do, the fans are not too happy about it. Well, for former Oklahoma star Kenzie Hansen, she doesn't want to hear any fans talking about this team in a negative manner.
Kinzie Hansen is over fans talking negatively about Oklahoma's Game 1 Super Regional loss
Oklahoma is not a perfect team; they are going to drop games, and sometimes they are going to drop games in the biggest moments. That is exactly what happened to the Sooners in Game 1 of the Super Regional round against Mississippi State.
The Sooners blew a couple of leads in what ended up being an 11-9 loss to the Bulldogs in a surprising Game 1 loss in the Super Regional round. It was a shock to everyone and certainly a shock to the fans. Fans were quick to start placing blame, especially on the pitching staff, and Hansen is over it all.
The former Oklahoma star took to social media to call out Sooner Nation ahead of what is the biggest game for this team so far this season.
And it’s Boomer forever… y’all are FAKE FANS… talking about young women in terrible ways. I couldn’t speak on it when I played but man… IF YOU WANT TO SUIT UP AND SHOW HOW ITS DONE, GO RIGHT AHEAD!!!

Hansen certainly didn't mince her words, saying what probably every athlete wishes they could say when talked about negatively about their play. The fans who talk like they could get on the field and do it better are typically those who have never even played the sport.
These college players are still human beings, and Hansen was ready to jump out and defend her former teammate and even some who are her former teammates. Oklahoma knows what that loss means, and they don't need to hear the extra noise going on behind the scenes from the fans.
The Sooners have to turn around quickly and play the best two games of the season to keep it alive. Mississippi State has shown it will not back down from the Sooners and clearly is ready for the battle. The Sooners sometimes seem to play better coming off a loss, and if they want their season to continue, they must win two games in a row.
Oklahoma hasn't missed the Women's College World Series since 2015 and doesn't plan to do so this season either. There is a lot on the line in Game 2, and Oklahoma is ready to come out swinging.
