Kickoff time, TV schedule set for Oklahoma's 2024 home finale with Alabama
By Chip Rouse
Oklahoma will play its final home game of the 2024 season on Nov. 23 against the Alabama Crimson Tide with a primetime national television audience.
This will be just the second time Alabama has played at Oklahoma. The two teams have played each other a total of six times total with Oklahoma winning three, Alabama two and one game ended in a tie.
In 2002 and '03, OU and Alabama played a home-and-home series. The first of the two meetings was at Oklahoma in 2002 with the Sooners winning 37-27. The next year, the site of the game switched to Tuscaloosa. Oklahoma also captured that game, winning by a 20-13 score.
The most recent game between the Sooners and Crimson Tide was in one of the national semifinal games in the 2018 College Football Playoff, Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray quarterbacked Oklahoma, and Alabama was quarterbacked by Tua Tagovailoa. Bama jumped out early in that contest and led 28-0 before the Sooners began to cut into the margin. OU rallied with a 24-point second half, but still fell short 45-34.
In 2014, QB Trevor Knight and No. 11 Oklahoma shocked No. 3 Alabama with a 45-31 win in the Sugar Bowl. Bob Stoops was the OU head coach in all three wins over Alabama.
The Sooners will have one regular-season game remaining after the home finale with Alabama. Barring a win in one of its final two games, Oklahoma will finish the 2024 season with a game at LSU on Nov. 30.
