A sight that terrifies Sooner Nation: an Oklahoma wide receiver down on the ground being tended to.
OU wide receiver Keontez Lewis left in the second quarter against Temple on Saturday after taking a hard helmet-to-helmet hit while trying to make a catch. During the attempted catch, a Temple defender ripped the ball from Lewis for a John Mateer interception.
Keontez Lewis injured against Temple
According to the ESPN2 broadcast, after walking off the field and being tended to by OU medical staff, Lewis eventually went back to the locker room before halftime. Lewis did not have his helmet and had a towel over his head. Although there wasn't a firm update on his status, Lewis is not expected to return against Temple.

Lewis has been a breakout performer for the Sooners after transferring from Southern Illinois this offseason. Through two games, Lewis was second among OU receivers with 12 catches for 155 receiving yards.
In his OU debut Week 1 against Illinois State, Lewis exploded for nine receptions, 119 yards and two touchdowns. He had three catches for 36 yards last week against Michigan.
In the first half against Temple before getting injured, Lewis had three receptions and 26 receiving yards. He was targeted a team-high seven times by Mateer.
The Sooners were without their five top receivers most of last season because of injuries. OU hasn't seen receivers Javonnie Gibson or Jayden Gibson in action yet this season.
Without Lewis, expect Ivan Carreon to get more snaps, or freshman Elijah Thomas to even make his college debut.
