On a list that new Oklahoma general manager Jim Nagy surely still had a hand in, the Sooners had 10 players on the Senior Bowl Top 300 that was released on Wednesday.

The list of top NFL Draft prospects included OU wide receiver Deion Burks, linebacker Kendal Daniels, defensive back Kendel Dolby, defensive tackle Gracen Halton, defensive end Marvin Jones Jr., quarterback John Mateer, running back Jaydn Ott, safety Robert Spears-Jennings, defensive end R Mason Thomas and defensive tackle Damonic Williams.

10 Sooners on Senior Bowl Top 300

Of the Sooners' 10 seniors on the list, four just transferred to OU over the offseason, including Daniels (Oklahoma State), Jones (Florida State), Mateer (Washington State) and Ott (Cal). Burks, Dolby and Williams also got to Norman via transfer at some point. That means, in true modern college football fashion, only three of the Sooners' top NFL Draft prospect signed with OU out of high school: Halton, Spears-Jennings and Thomas.

Only Ott came to Norman thanks to Nagy, who was hired in February after the winter transfer cycle was already over. Nagy was previously Executive Director of the Senior Bowl.Nagy had scouted and been enamored with Ott long before he became OU's general manager, though.

You can also bet Nagy had scouted every other Sooner on this list at some point during his time as Senior Bowl Director, so he knew exactly what OU had when he got to Norman. With that, considering the evaluation process for the Senior Bowl starts long before these players' senior years, Nagy likely had a hand in creating this most recent Senior Bowl Top 300 for the last time, even before he knew some would be on his own roster.
