Oklahoma linebacker-turned-tight end Jaren Kanak is usually all over the field to make a tackle (or now to catch a pass), but for the last few days, Kanak and his adorable Dachshund dog, Burger, have been all over social media and even on ESPN's SportsCenter.

Kanak recently shared some pictures from the Sooners' media day that he took with Burger, and ever since Kanak put them out there on Instagram initially, college football fans can't get enough of them. He finally also recently posted the viral pictures on X.

Kanak's love for Burger is nothing new for those who follow him on X, though, so these pictures really shouldn't have been a surprise.

Kanak was part of a group OU players who talked to local media after practice on Tuesday, and obviously he was asked about Burger and the viral pictures.

"Yeah, that's my best buddy right there," Kanak told News9. "I always knew that I wanted to get a dog. My friend Danny Stutsman, he got a dog in college and he had a ton of fun with her. I knew that I wanted to get one, but I didn't want to get like a basic like boring dog like an Australian Shepherd or something. That's what he got. Great dog, but a wiener dog is way cooler and way more funny."

Kanak just switched positions from linebacker to tight end ahead of his senior season. He played in every game the past three seasons as a reserve linebacker and on special teams. He also started once last season at cheetah and made nine starts at linebacker in 2023.
