There’s still more coming for Jalen Hurts’ story.

Hurts, a Super Bowl-winning quarterback who spent his final college season with the Oklahoma Sooners, announced on Monday that he wrote a children’s book titled, “Better Than a Touchdown.” It’s scheduled to release on March 10, 2026, and is already available for pre-order.

"It's always been a dream of mine to have my own children's book. Today, that dream finally comes true," Hurts said in his announcement video. "... With this book, I'm excited to extend some of my lessons learned throughout my journey to the next generation and hopefully it strikes a chord of resilience and it encourages our kids, the reader, whomever, to believe in themselves. I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for the lessons learned, the mentorship and books just like mine."

Hurts filmed the video from the library of Tice Elementary School in his hometown of Houston.

Hurts was a Heisman Trophy runner-up during his lone season with the Sooners in 2019 after transferring from Alabama, where he was benched and replaced during the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

This past season, Hurts became the first former OU quarterback to win a Super Bowl as a quarterback after his Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs 40–22 in Super Bowl LIX. He was also named Super Bowl MVP after throwing for 221 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for another 72 yards and a score.

The Eagles took Hurts in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft before he emerged as their starter as a rookie. In 2022, he got the Eagles to the Super Bowl and was named NFL MVP runner-up.
