The Oklahoma men's basketball team should finally get a breather this weekend.

The Sooners host a struggling LSU on Saturday at Lloyd Noble Center. It will be the first time in six games that OU plays an unranked team after five ranked opponents in a row.

How to watch

Need to know

If Sooner Nation thinks their basketball season is going bad, at least you're not an LSU fan.

LSU is just trying to stay above .500 at 12-12 this season. The Tigers have just one SEC win and are on a seven-game losing streak.

Life isn't so easy for the Sooners either, though, at 16-8 and 3-8 in conference play.

OU just finished a stretch of games against five straight ranked opponents and went 1-4 during the gauntlet. Then, after playing LSU, the Sooners will again play five ranked teams in a row.

The Sooners still have a slither of hope to make the NCAA Tournament as a bubble team, but a loss to LSU would squash all of those dreams. But OU still also needs some quality wins after avoiding an upset to LSU for any hope of dancing.

And OU has the weapons to knock off some good teams. Senior forward Jalon Moore leads the Sooners with 17.3 points a game.

The Sooners have a one-two punch with Moore and freshman Jeremiah Fears, who is averaging 15.2 points a game. However, the duo combined for only 18 points against Missouri, and the Sooners were blown out as a result.
