Need to know

The Sooners got a break after notching their first-ever SEC victory over South Carolina 82-62 on Saturday in their last outing. Arkansas is also coming off its first conference win of the season after beating Georgia 68-65 on Wednesday in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Both teams have also been sparked by standout freshman so far this season. However, Arkansas guard Boogie Fland injured his hand and it was announced this week that he will likely miss the rest of the season. He was averaging 15.1 points a game and was a projected first-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

The Sooners have freshman guard Jeremiah Fears, who averages 16.8 points a game and is also a projected lottery pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

Senior forward Jalon Moore leads the Sooners, though, with 18.3 points a game. He's been on a tear lately, putting up 22 and 29 points in his last two performances.

Junior forward Adou Thiero leads Arkansas with 16.4 points a game.

The Razorbacks have been a bottomdweller in the SEC so far after starting conference play 0-5. However, the Sooners are down there with them after starting SEC 0-4 despite beginning the season 13-0 after getting through their nonconference schedule undefeated.

Arkansas' last game was proof of the SEC's depth. The Razorbacks narrowly beat Georgia, which handled OU 72-62 just a few weeks ago. The only difference was the Sooners had to go on the road to take on the Bulldogs.
